The name Nancy L. comes from the 1900 McDonald Co Cen. All other research
indicates she was always known as Kittie (such as her McDonald Co marraige
records) or Kitt.
McDonald County marraige records at Pineville, Book E, p74 list "J.M. Bowers
(of Bethpage) and Kittie Daughtery (Bethpage)".
Probate records of M.L. Bowers list "J.M. Daughtery" and also "James
Daughtery" as curator of F. M. Bowers estate. I assume this was probably
Nancy's Father.
According to Ava Stewart, Uncle Doc, and others Kit married George Casteel
after her 1st husband's death. After she died they remember unmarried son,
Lewis, still lived with Mr. Casteel.
In a conversation with area resident Jack Stafford in abt 1981 he was very
familiar with Union Cem and fairly certain Kit was buried there. I beleive
it is possible she is buried next to F.M., both unmarked.
In a conversation with Blanche Clanton of Stella, in 1994, She was fairly
certain that George Casteel married again after Kit.
