Family Traditions

Our immigrants have been exchanging stories with each other. Evidently, those tales were handed down and became the fabric of family traditions. One tale might give someone a clue to a bingo.

My grandmother always told me our Bower family originated in Ireland, that we had a pure-blooded Native American great grandmother, and our family's coat of arms is physically in Michigan. Unfortunately, it looks like my Bower line originated in England, not Ireland [though I'm still too stuck in New York to know even that for sure]; the pure-blood grandmother was not in my direct line, but a great uncle's; and, IF my direct Bower line is armigerous, the original arms most certainly are not in Michigan, but still in England.

Does anyone else have a family tradition they'd like to share?
