A guardian was appointed in Pittsburgh, Penn in Dec. 1896 for the following minor children of Paul BAUER: Lide, Frank, Paul, Robert, Florence, Mary, Walter, Mabel.

I have a copy of the estate file which is on file with the County of Allegheny Registrar of Wills.

QUERY - Looking for PITTSBURGH BAUERS

I am trying to find any Pittsburgh Bauers that I have not yet found. As far back as I know, I am a direct descendant of Alexander Hamilton. Other Pittsburgh Bauers include, Bob, Terry, Beth,

Mark, Neil, Fred Sr., Fred Jr., Marge, Alice. If anyone is related to any of these Bauers, please let me know.

Followup: I don't know if I'm related to those you already have. My father was one of fourteen Bauers from Mt. Oliver area. Searching for any Allegheny County information on Frank Bauer - Mary Scheirer. Married abt 1910. Lived at 529 Ormsby Ave until mid 1960s. Submitted by Paul Bower - pabauer@msn.com

Followup: My Gr Grandmother was Christina Rosina Bauer Hubner. She lived her whole life in Pittsburgh and died in 1951 or 1952. My earliest known ancestor with that name was Johann Bauer and he came to the states in 1820. Jay - jay.mccaffrey@trw.com

Grandmother was born in Allegheny County PA. Born Feb 13, 1900. Named Edna Marie BAUER. Father was Edwin or Edward McCUE. Mother's name was Margeretta BAUER. Never married. Father was possibly half Indian [according to conversations] and the other half Irish [once removed from Ireland]. Mother's father from Germany; reputed to have fought in the Civil War and to have been wounded in the Battle of Antietam. Any response appreciated.

Looking for any information that would aid in tracing ancestors of Frank G. BAUER, born May 8, 1843 in Germany (possibly Baden). Emmigrated to USA in very early 1860's, living initially in Uniontown, PA before settling in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, by 1870.

Married Bertha F. Bussmann, born August 14, 1844, in Prussia (possibly Paderborn). Bertha arrived in the U.S. with her mother and brother in June 1851.

Marriage produced five children: Augustus Frederick (1868), Stella M. (1870), Aloysius F. (1874), Clementine (1877) and Bertha Theresa (1880).

Frank was employed for about 20 years in Pittsburgh by Joseph Lautner & Company, a wholesale dealer in special builders hardware, iron, glass, blacksmith, saddlers, and wagon makers supplies.
