EDWARD BOWER, of Doncaster, County York, [d. 11 April 1793, aged 56] m. Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Benjamin Hague, Esq. [Mayor of Doncaster, 1756] by Elizabeth, his wife, eldest daughter of Edmund Mower, of Newark, and niece of George Mower, Esq. of Woodseats, High Sheriff of Derbyshire, in 174_.

ARMS -- Querterly: first and fourth, azure, a human leg, couped at the thigh, and pierced bendwise by a broken tilting spear, or, a chief argent thereon between two castles, sable, a pale of the first charged with a rose of the second, for BOWER; 2nd and 3rd, argent a chevron, engrailed, gules, for Chivers, impaling argent, two bars, gules for Martin.
CREST -- On a wreath, on a mount, vert, a quiver, azure., garnished, or, and filled with arrows, proper in saltire, with a bow unstrung, also proper.
MOTTO -- Veritas praevalebit.
