The wife and nine children of Abraham Baur

Here is a picture of Anna (Streit) Baur with Abraham's nine living children. This family, who only spoke German, were left to support themselves after Abraham Baur died in 1875 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, only two years after they immigrated from Switzerland.

The two oldest in front were born to Abraham's first marriage with Magdalena Frutiger.

Anna (Streit) Baur, born 3 Nov 1827 in Thurnen, Bern, Switzerland; died 27 December 1912 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio; married 1 March 1856 in Thun, Bern, Switzerland to Abraham Baur.

Johann "Gottfried" Baur, born 14 February 1849 in Erlenbach, Bern, Switzerland; died 17 April 1887 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. He married Susanna Hertig on 16 October 1875 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. She was born 16 Oct 1849 in Oberhofen, Bern, Switzerland and died 8 Jun 1886 after having 5 children. Their orphaned children were raised by Gottfried's half brothers.
