Buried in St. Vincent, a small cemetery in the Rue Lucien-Gaulard ~~
Harry BAUR [1880-1943], a well-known actor, is buried under a simple black tomb on the corner of a path. Baur began on the stage, then imprinted his strong personality on European cinema. He played the composer in The Lives and Loves of Beethoven and starred in Les Miserables, Crime and Punishment, and many other films. Baur's career was cut short by World War II, when he was arrested and accused of being an Allied agent. Imprisoned in France and tortured by the Gestapo, he was eventually released but died mysteriously a few days later.
